Transmissions

Transmission codes change with engine, axle ratio, two-wheel versus four-wheel drive, and even a mid-year running change. An automatic that looks identical from the pan can have a different bellhousing, output, or control module. Manuals vary by gear count, input spline, and hydraulic versus cable clutch. CVTs are family-specific and unforgiving if you mix generations. Send the VIN, a photo of the tag on the case, and whether the vehicle is FWD, RWD, or AWD. We match automatic, manual, or CVT — plus a transfer case when the job needs one — and tell you what fluid, cooler lines, and torque converter or clutch kit belong with that unit. Condition, core, and shipping are on the quote so you are not surprised when a 200-pound gearbox shows up at the shop door.
