Starters

A starter that almost fits is a no-start in the driveway and a second shipping label. Clocking, nose length, tooth count on the pinion, and the connector on the solenoid all have to line up with the engine and the flywheel or flexplate. Some packages use a reduction gear; others are direct drive. High-output or diesel applications need the torque the computer and the battery expect. Tell us the engine, whether it is auto or manual, and send a photo of the old unit if you can. We confirm the plug, the mounting ears, and the offset so the starter you receive cranks that motor — not a neighbor's similar block. You get a clear note on whether the heat shield or the ground strap transfers, and we can talk dispatch options when the car is already on a tow hook.
